Inner pages have their own content
Inner pages having their own content means each URL on your site returns its own text in the HTML, not a copy of the homepage shell.
Also searched as
- inner pages have no html content
- spa routes not indexed
- pre-render every route
- blog posts not readable by ai crawlers
- only the homepage is server rendered
What you might notice
Your homepage looks fine in view source, but an inner page, such as /pricing or a blog post, shows an empty app shell with little or none of that page's own text.
Why it matters
In search engines
Pages that all return the same empty shell look like duplicates until rendered.
In AI assistants
An AI crawler that doesn't run JavaScript can't tell your pages apart if they all return the same shell.
How we test it
We take up to three pages, from your sitemap first and your homepage links second, always in the same order, and score each one like the homepage: 2 for 80 or more words, 1 for fewer than 80 words with no empty app container, 0 for fewer than 80 words inside one. Your points are the average of those scores, rounded to the nearest half point. Pages we can't load don't count. If we find no other page, this check is n/a and doesn't count toward your score.
How to fix it
Make sure every route is server-rendered or pre-rendered, not only the homepage.
