Welcome to cite-met ("Company," "we," "our," or "us"). By accessing or using our website (https://cite-met.com), our hosting platform, analytics dashboard, API, or any related services (collectively, the "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms").
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use our Services.
1. Description of Service
cite-met is a specialized hosting and optimization platform designed to improve the visibility of websites for Artificial Intelligence (AI) crawlers and traditional search engines.
Our Service works by:
- Connecting to your GitHub repository.
- Converting your Client-Side Rendered (CSR) code into Static Site Generated (SSG) pages.
- Automatically injecting optimization files (including but not limited to
llms.txt,sitemap.xml, androbots.txt). - Hosting the resulting website and providing traffic analytics.
You acknowledge and agree that by using cite-met, you authorize us to modify your website's output structure for the specific purpose of optimization.
2. Account Registration & Security
To use the Service, you must register via a valid GitHub account.
- Credentials: You are responsible for maintaining the security of your GitHub credentials.
- Authority: You represent that you have the necessary rights and permissions to grant us access to the GitHub repositories you link to our Service.
- Responsibility: You are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
3. User Content & Licensing
A. Your Ownership
You retain full ownership of all source code, content, data, and intellectual property ("User Content") that you upload, connect, or deploy via cite-met. We do not claim ownership of your User Content.
B. License to Cite-Met
By deploying a project on cite-met, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:
- Access, clone, and build your source code.
- Host, reproduce, and display your website content publicly on the internet.
- Modify the rendering of your content (as described in Section 1) solely for the purpose of providing the Service.
C. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to host or promote:
- Illegal content or activities.
- Malware, viruses, or phishing scams.
- Content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others.
- Hate speech, harassment, or content that promotes violence.
We reserve the right to remove any project and suspend any account that violates this Acceptable Use Policy without prior notice.
4. Service Plans, Payments, and Refunds
A. Free Trial / Waitlist Access
We may offer a free trial period (e.g., 1 Month Free Hosting) or "Waitlist Access." At the end of the trial period, you must upgrade to a paid plan to keep your website live. If you do not upgrade, we reserve the right to take your website offline.
B. Paid Subscriptions
Paid plans (e.g., Pro, Authority) are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis.
- Payment Processor: We use Stripe to process payments. You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate billing information.
- Auto-Renewal: Your subscription will automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing cycle.
C. Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time via your dashboard. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period. Your site will remain live until the period ends.
D. Refunds
All fees are non-refundable. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial months of service or unused time.
5. AEO & SEO Disclaimers (No Guarantees)
This section is critical. Please read carefully.
While cite-met uses best-in-class engineering and the "C.M.E.T. Framework" to optimize your website for AI and Search Engines:
- No Ranking Guarantees: We do not and cannot guarantee specific search rankings (e.g., Page 1 of Google) or specific citations by AI models (e.g., ChatGPT). Search algorithms and AI models are third-party "black boxes" that change frequently.
- Third-Party Platforms: We are not affiliated with OpenAI (ChatGPT), Google, Anthropic (Claude), or Perplexity. Changes to their policies or crawlers may affect the performance of your site.
- "As Is" Basis: The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind.
6. Intellectual Property Rights
Cite-Met Property:
We own all rights, title, and interest in and to the cite-met Platform, including our SSG conversion engine, the analytics dashboard, our "C.M.E.T." methodology, our logos, and our website content.
Feedback:
If you provide feedback or suggestions about the Service, we may use them freely without any obligation to compensate you.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, cite-met (including our founders, employees, and affiliates) shall not be liable for:
- Indirect Damages: Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill.
- Service Interruptions: Any damages resulting from hacking, tampering, or other unauthorized access or use of the Service or your account.
- Content Errors: Any errors, mistakes, or inaccuracies of content hosted on the platform.
- Cap on Liability: In no event shall our total liability to you for all claims exceed the amount you paid us during the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or $100 CAD, whichever is greater.
8. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless cite-met and its founders from and against any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including attorney's fees) arising from:
- Your use of and access to the Service.
- Your violation of any term of these Terms.
- Your violation of any third-party right, including copyright, property, or privacy right.
- Any claim that your User Content caused damage to a third party.
9. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the courts located in Toronto, Ontario.
10. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will try to provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion. By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
